Mid‑Career Research Excellence Award
The UACES Mid‑Career Research Excellence Award recognises scholars whose work demonstrates a coherent and sustained contribution across originality, impact, innovation, collaboration and service. Applications are currently open and will close on Monday 25 May 2026 at 23:59 BST.
The Mid‑Career Research Excellence Award is open to anyone to put forward a nomination. You do not need to be a UACES member to submit a nomination though only current members are eligible to receive the award. If you are not yet a member, you can join at www.uaces.org/membership.
Eligibility
- Between 8 and 20 years post‑PhD
- Career breaks taken into account
- Active researcher status required
Prize
- A commemorative glass award
- A certificate
- Three‑day attendance at the UACES 56th Annual Conference in Prague
- An opportunity to speak in the UACES Award Winner webinar series
- Promotion across UACES social media channels
How to apply
If you meet the eligibility criteria and would like to apply for this award, either for yourself or on behalf of someone else, please complete the online application form.
The form will request relevant information and a supporting statement addressing the award criteria.
To help you structure your statement, you may wish to consider the following questions.
- Describe your research agenda in European Studies. What questions are you pursuing, why do they matter, and what is distinctive about your approach?
- What do you consider to be your most significant research contributions to date? Please refer to specific outputs such as publications, reports, or datasets.
- How has your research developed over the course of your career?
- Where do you see your research agenda going next?
