Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award
The UACES Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Award recognises scholars who have made substantial and sustained contributions to advancing equity, diversity and inclusion with implications for European Studies. Applications are currently open and will close on Monday 25 May 2026 at 23:59 BST.
It celebrates work that challenges structural inequalities, broadens participation and promotes more inclusive knowledge production, including mentorship, curriculum transformation, institutional change and advocacy.
Nominations for this award are open to anyone. You do not need to be a UACES member to apply though only current members are eligible to receive the award. If you are not yet a member, you can join at www.uaces.org/membership.

The form will ask for relevant information and a supporting statement addressing the award criteria.
To help you structure your statement, you may wish to consider the following questions:
-Describe the EDI work, initiative or contribution you are putting forward. What is it, who does it involve, and what problem or gap does it address
-What has been the impact of this work? Please provide evidence — this can be qualitative (testimonials, stories, observed changes) as well as quantitative (numbers reached, data on participation).
-What has been particularly challenging or innovative about this approach to EDI?
-Is there anything else you would like the judging panel to know about this work or its context?
