Contribution to European Studies Community Prize

Recognising a scholar, practitioner or professional who has made an outstanding contribution to building and sustaining the community of contemporary European Studies through mentorship, association leadership, editorial work, network‑building or other forms of service that make the field a better place to work. Applications are currently open and will close on Monday 25 May 2026 at 23:59 BST.

This award is nomination‑only. Self‑nomination is not permitted. You do not need to be a UACES member to nominate somebody, though only current members are eligible to receive the award. If you are not yet a member, you can join at www.uaces.org/membership.

How to apply

If you would like to put forward a nomination for this award, please complete the online nomination form.

You will be asked to provide information about the nominee and submit a supporting statement outlining their contribution to the European Studies community.

To help you structure your statement, you may wish to consider the following questions.

- Describe the nominee's contribution to the European Studies community. What have they done, over what period and in what contexts?
- What has been the impact of the nominee's contribution on the people around them and on the field? Can you give specific examples?
- Why is this nominee a 'hidden hero'? What do they do that often goes unrecognised?
