Bios
Dr Elena Lazarou is currently Acting Head of External Policies at the European Parliamentary Research Service and is an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, has worked as assistant professor of international relations at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) in Brazil, and held postdoc positions in Cambridge and at the LSE.
Dr Alexander Lanoszka (PhD Princeton) is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at the University of Waterloo having previously worked at City, University of London. He studies alliance politics, theories of war, and European security with attention the Baltic region . His publications include Atomic Assurance: The Alliance Politics of Nuclear Proliferation (Cornell University Press, 2018) and Military Alliances in the Twenty-first Century (Polity, 2022).
Dr Sasikumar S. Sundaram holds a doctorate from the Central European University and is Lecturer in International Security and IR theories in the Department of International Politics at City, University of London. Before that he held teaching and research positions in Brazil, India and Norway. He has published on geopolitics, norm contestation and rhetoric in Foreign policy in, among others, the journals International Affairs, International Relations, ISQ, and Global Security Studies.
Dr Sara Silvestri is Senior Lecturer at City, University of London where she teaches Political Change in Europe. She is also a Bye Fellow at the University of Cambridge where she completed her doctorate. Sara has collaborated inter alia with the European Policy Centre, European Commission, FCDO, Home Office, Council of Europe. She is currently researching Christian responses to refugees while her previous projects looked at religion in diplomacy (Brookings 2015) and religion in conflict and peacebuilding (British Academy 2015).
