Prof. Dr. Tanja A. Börzel is professor of political science and holds the Chair for European Integration at the Otto-Suhr-Institute for Political Science, Freie Universität Berlin. Prof. Dr. Börzel is co-coordinator of the Research College "The Transformative Power of Europe" as well as tthe H2020 Collaborative Project "EU-STRAT - The EU and Eastern Partnership Countries: An Inside-Out Analysis and Strategic. Assessment". Her research focus and teaching experience lie in the field of institutional theory and governance, comparative regionalism and diffusion. Her recent publications include "New Modes of Governance and Accession to the EU" (Palgrave, 2010, edited volume), "European Governance - Negotiation and Competition in the Shadow of Hierarchy" (Journal of Common Market Studies 48, 2), "From Europeanization to Diffusion" (Special Issue of West European Politics, 2012, 35, 1, 2012, co-edited with Thomas Risse), "Business and Governance in South Africa. Racing to the Top?" (Palgrave, 2013, co-edited with Christian Thauer), and "Governance Transfer by Regional Organizations" (forthcoming with Palgrave, co-edited with Vera van Hüllen).
