Biography

Dimitrios is a PhD candidate at the Department of Politics, University of Sheffield. His research is on the institutional evolution of the Economic and Monetary Union's fiscal governance after the financial crisis. The project is funded by the University's Faculty of Social Sciences. The academic background of Dimitrios includes Comparative Politics (York-UK, MA with distinction) and European Studies (Piraeus-Greece, BA). Considering his professional experience, Dimitrios has worked as a Parliamentary Advisor at the Hellenic Parliament and has completed a paid traineeship at the European Commission's Secretariat-General (Unit: Parliamentary Questions) in spring 2012. As a Blue Book Trainee, he was attending and reporting on Plenary and Committee meetings of the European Parliament, as well as the Council's General Affairs Working Group (GAG). Also, he provided political analyses of parliamentary questions contributing to the President's briefing dossier. Recent publications of Dimitrios include a book review in European Politics and Society and a conference paper on Europeanization and the new European fiscal framework presented in the 2016 SPERI Conference.
