New Horizons in European Studies

Aston University, Birmingham, UK - 24-25 April 2014

This two-day research conference aims to provide a friendly environment in which postgraduate students can gain experience of presenting research and develop contacts with other researchers in their field. The conference is aimed at research students of all levels and proposals are welcome from students working in the field of European Studies within various disciplines.

Accommodation

Birmingham has a huge range of hotels and hostels to choose from.

Getting There

Train

Birmingham has three mainline stations: New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill.

Birmingham New Street (trains from London Euston and other major UK cities) & Snow Hill (regional trains) are a 15-minute walk away from Aston Campus.

Birmingham Moor Street (trains from London Marylebone) is a 10-minute walk away from Aston Campus.

There are frequent direct trains to Birmingham from most major UK cities. Visit www.nationalrail.co.uk or www.thetrainline.com to check train times and ticket prices.

Plane

Birmingham has its own airport with flights to many major European cities as well as New York and Toronto. Birmingham International is a ten-minute train ride from New Street station. Find out more.

Coach

There are direct coaches from across the UK to Birmingham with National Express and Megabus.

UACES is offering papergivers up to 100 GBP towards their economy class travel.
