Talking (in)Security: fostering engagement on UK internal security in a post EU referendum context

Birmingham, United Kingdom

30 June 2017

The workshop on Brexit and internal security is aimed at fostering engagement on a topic that was severely underrepresented in the debate on the United Kingdom (UK)'s exit from the European Union (EU) and which continues to be so in a post-referendum context: the UK's internal security. Bearing in mind the continued absence of debate in this area, this workshop underlines the urgent need for engagement and dissemination in relation to the risks associated to 'Brexit'.
The main purpose of the workshop is to serve as a departure point for a policy report co-authored by the participants and which will be disseminated to policy makers. Participants are not expected to submit papers for the workshop, but need to prepare a short presentation on how Brexit will affect specific areas/ instrucments of internal security.
To apply, please submit a 150 word summary of your presentation to Helena Farrand Carrapico (h.farrand-carrapico@aston.ac.uk). For further information, please do not hesitate to contact the organiser.
